Our Founder, Maya Holihan spent nearly 25 years in the luxury goods industry, with more than half of her career focusing on weddings. She's the former owner of multiple bridal boutiques and wedding planning companies.
Over the years she's witnessed the cost of weddings continue to skyrocket, and how the overproduction of products challenges the operational efficiency and profitability of retailers and brands. Further, the extravagance and excess that overruns the industry adversely affects our environmental sustainability.
The idea for EWedded came to her as she was trying to find a way to turn her mounting discontinued product into a consistent revenue stream. While researching options to solve this
problem she learned that many other industry businesses were suffering like her and they hadn't
found a viable channel to turn their stagnant inventory into a consistent revenue stream. This
intelligence inspired the innovation for EWedded.
